I normally pick this up at my local discount beauty store for $4.99. 15 oz for $4.99, don't knock it until you try it.
- Water, your hair's #1 moisturizer.
- Glycerin, a great humectant aiding in moisture. Especially great for this colder weather we're suffering from in NYC.
Mineraloil.- Olive oil, the fatty acids that olive oil is made of will coat the shaft of your hair, helping to keep it healthy and protected.
- Oregano oil, possesses amazing antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties.
- Panthenol, coveted for moisturizing, thickening, and boosting hair's body quotient.
Here's where things get fuzzy, I know how some people, mainly my fellow curlies aren't a big fans of
"Both coconut oil and mineral oil enhance clumping of adjacent hair strands. This mechanism aids in curl formation, definition of curl pattern, and curl retention. Capillary adhesion, the mechanism by which this is possible, occurs when oils form sufficiently thick films on the surfaces of hair strands and capillary forces between adjacent hairs attract them to one another, effectively binding them into clumps.
Researchers found that capillary adhesion between hair fibers remains constant with mineral oil, but is found to decrease over time with coconut oil, olive oil, and sunflower oil. The reason for this is that the very non-polar mineral oil molecules remain on the surface of the cuticle of the hair." (Curlynikki.com)
Now I told y'all it was an oldie, but goodie. I constantly reach for this once a week to give my coils that extra spring that I need to survive the cold. I even add a bit of this to deep condition while my hair is up in my go to protective style, Senegalese twist.
I love that I can find this product pretty much everywhere and normally the price is common between $5-$8.
